Essential Duties

  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle with a goal of keeping safety incidents and violations to a minimum.
  • Deliver and pick up customer shipments including driver load/offload of vehicle
  • Communicate with customers and dispatch office regarding shipment and delivery status.
  • Secure loads to vehicle using the appropriate, required tools (i.e. ropes, straps, chains, etc.) and understand the safety restrictions with each tool.
  • Maintain safety of vehcile being operated and shipments being transported.
  • Conduct complete and thorough pre-trip safety inspections on vehicle and all shipments.
  • Complete all paperwork including dray tag, vehicle inspection reports, delivery documents, and daily driver logs.
  • Follow all Federal, State, County, and Company safety requirements with regards to the safe operation of a vehicle on the road.
  • Assist drivers with deliveries and safely navigating delivery locations.
  • Load/unload various items from containers to and from terminal floor by lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; palletizing; shrink wrapping; and/or operating a forklift.
  • Load/unload delivery trucks – manually or with a forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Retrieve items from warehouse floor, storage bins, vaults, and containers.
  • Verify items on warehouse documents to include the condition of items upon receipt and storage location.
  • Assist drivers with deliveries and pick-ups on the road; including placing items in designated areas, down stacking, and assembly when required.
  • Follow instructions from Specialized Transportation Supervisor and/or Lead Warehouseman.
  • Assist drivers with reversing onto the dock or navigating safely at delivery or pick-up locations by spotting and stopping traffic and/or pedestrians.
  • Maintain warehouse and facility cleanliness; including shipment containers, trailers, and Company vehicles by using tools such as a broom, dustpan, and pallet jacks when necessary.
  • Maintain company vehicles by washing exterior and cleaning interior.
  • With some supervision, complete warehouse closing procedures such as securing warehouse doors, turning off fans and lights, returning all paperwork and radios to the office, securing all trucks in the yard, and locking driveway gates.
  • Fulfill and tint paint orders which includes pulling orders using high lift, operating tint booth, prepping orders for pick up or delivery, and checking off order documents.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory by verifying items and quantities in stoarge bins and rows.
  • Properly account for and store equipment (dolly, pallet jack, hand truck) upon completion of shift and closing of terminal.
  • Wear company-approved uniform, including any required personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Manual labor as assigned.
  • Always think and work safely to prevent work injuries, accidents, and property damage. Comply with all company safety rules, including reporting unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, illnesses and injuries to supervisor or manager and actively participate in identifying ways to make our company a safer place to work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years driving related business experience.
  • Forklift and electric pallet jack certified.
  • Able to operate a smart phone and business applications.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Completes assigned job duties with a high degree of initiative & self-motivation.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail & ability to multi-task to ensure job duties are completed efficiently.
  • Effectively communicates with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Ability to proactively identify problems, brainstorm and analyze answers, and implement the best solution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • DOT Medical Certification
  • Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

Wage

$20/hour
