Essential Duties


  • Ensure Company compliance with all safety related regulatory agencies (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, Fire code, Environmental regulations, and Business Associations of Gentry Business Park & Kenai Industrial Park).
  • Develop and administer safety training as required.
  • Understand& ensure compliance and make recommendations for improvements to the Company safety program.
  • Understand, promote, communicate, and educate the team about the Company’s Hazard Communication Policy; Safety, Health, Accident Reduction and Prevention (SHARP)Program; and Safety incentive programs.
  • Actively participate and take ownership of all aspects of Safety department involvement including accident investigations; timely, accurate, and thorough report completion; and any training and/or personnel counseling that may be required.
  • Ensure the safety of the team by inspecting the workplace for unsafe conditions, correcting any observed unsafe actions and behaviors as necessary, and taking prompt action to eliminate or reduce any workplace hazards that may cause an accident or injury.
  • Generate safety meeting agendas, participate in monthly departmental safety meetings, and provide drivers with monthly and repair cost statements.
  • Track and report Company safety record.
  • Conduct accident investigations and report accordingly. Work with insurance and other parties as necessary.
  • Maintain a current list:
    • Fleet licensing and safety inspections
    • Personnel safety and licensing certifications: Driver’s License, Medical Card, Hazmat, Road Certifications, Driving Abstract, Forklift, Drug and Alcohol Awareness, Written Exams, Tests, MARSEC, TWIC, Cartman Card, Customer Safety, etc.


  • Oversee personnel and safety programs.
  • Maintain a library of current resources to ensure compliance with regulations and effective training programs.
  • Develop, prepare, and conduct personnel training and safety meetings:  CDL, DOT, OSHA, Forklift, General Safety, Hazmat, DIP Training, etc.


  • Minimum 2 years related intermodal industry experience.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
  • College degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to understand and work in a computer database.
  • Type 45 wpm.
  • Foster effective teamwork.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail, self-motivation, ability to multi-task, and sense of urgency to ensure job duties are completed in an efficient, timely, & collaborative manner.
  • Demonstrate reliability & dependability with respect to attendance, punctuality, accessibility, & approachability by management, co-workers, company staff, and vendors.
  • Demonstrate ability to problem solve and make effective & independent decisions.


  • Minimum 2 years related business experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written).
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate a vehicle.
  • PC skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.


Salary: $50,000-$60,000/year; depending on experience
